Project Overview

How do you shift humanity’s perception of something so vast, so ever-present, that most simply overlook it? How do you inspire action for something we all depend on - yet barely know?

The challenge: make people see the ocean not just as a backdrop, but as Earth’s greatest unexplored wonder, and its most vital treasure.

Solution

We started with a simple, humbling truth: we’ve explored more of outer space than we have of our own oceans. In fact, only 5% of the ocean has been explored - a figure derived from research conducted between 2000 and 2017 to support the development of accurate visual representations.

By reframing the ocean as the final frontier on Earth, we tapped into human curiosity and a sense of shared responsibility. Our concept invited people to look beneath the surface, positioning the ocean as both a mystery waiting to be discovered and a life source worth protecting.

Through compelling visuals and thoughtful messaging, we made this vast, often invisible ecosystem feel extraordinary, urgent, and close to home. Because when you realise how much of the ocean remains unseen, you stop taking it for granted - and start asking what part you can play in preserving it.
